How is coaching different from  therapy?

Coaching seeks to focus on the person you are today and where you would like to be. It is more present and forward looking. Therapy seeks to heal past traumas or help you make sense of what got you here.

 

In coaching, I see you as whole, capable, wise, resourceful and creative person who can achieve what it is you want. My job is not to “fix you” unlike in therapy. Instead, my role is to simply provide you the space to grow yourself so you can overcome what is in front of you.

I don’t even know what I want in life, how can I set a goal?

As your coach, I can also help you identify your goal. Starting with what you currently notice in your life, we can uncover what it is that you are looking for.

 

Sometimes, just having a clearly defined goal that you can really envision at the end of the coaching journey is success in itself to get you started on that path.

Are your sessions online or in person?

Currently, all my sessions are done online.

At what point would coaching be beneficial to me?

Coaching has been helpful for my clients at various stages of their life:

  • Understanding what is holding them back

  • Defining and clarifying what their goals are

  • Charting out the plan of action, or

  • Having an accountability partner to help challenge and ensure you are on-track

Coaching is beneficial when you are open and ready for the process, regardless of the stage you are in at life.

What if I don’t achieve my goals at the end of the agreed coaching sessions?

Depending on a client’s goal and personal circumstances, not all goals are achieved as straightforward as when we first set them out. I do not guarantee results but I do guarantee satisfaction and learning. If at any point, you feel the coaching is not working for you, I encourage you to raise this as soon as possible so we could discuss possible options for where you could go next.

Can I cancel mid-way?

If my coaching style is no longer working for you or your goals have been achieved, we can discuss whether you would like to pre-terminate the coaching agreement or shift your coaching sessions towards something else.

 

Either way, you will be the driver of whether or not the coaching sessions will continue.

What makes you different from the other coaches out there?

I have a Associate Certified Coach certification from the International Coach Federation. I have coached and trained people from various industries from tech, consumer goods, banking, insurance, airline and food & beverage industries. 

 

Prior to becoming a coach, I have been facilitating life planning and design workshops for the last 7 years which has helped people hold themselves accountable for their goals. I also work in Google where I trained companies on digital transformation and facilitated multiple workshops for branding and ideation. I am an experienced workshop facilitator and corporate leader.

 

I graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I studied Ontological Coaching from The Coach Partnership, am a certified Newfield Coach, and am a certified practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming.

These all allow me to better relate and understand with others who are in the corporate world. Depending on the situation, I am able to bring in perspectives from positive psychology, business development or Ontological learning. Learn more about me in the About Me section.
